This weeks Spotlight is shining bright on Mr. Baird! We recently asked him the following questions.

1.  What are you and your students doing in class right now?  We just completed a unit over fractions in Math, the students just love fractions....NOT! We are studying about Matter in science and working on reading skills such as comparing contrasting, sequencing, and summarizing.  Also, in reading we are working on reading and analyzing poems.
2.  How do you keep them engaged? Or, what is your students' favorite part of the activity? The students love taking timed tests in math and in spelling they love to play Sparkle.
3. What challenges does your current activity present for you and your students? Students struggle with analyzing poems and fractions. I am challenged by trying to figure out better ways to different instructions to make sure all students succeed.
4.  What is your greatest accomplishment so far this school year?  My greatest accomplishment is that most of my students can do 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication and simple long division problems.
