Monday April 19, 2018 to our Elementary school to give our students a chance to experience the traveling planetarium. The planetarium is an igloo-like fabric dome made by GoDome that stays upright with the help of the high-powered fan. This dome is big enough, to hold a classroom full of students. Operators use a convex mirror, reflecting images from the online telescope program on to the dome. The planetarium was created in 2012 as of the Astronomy Department's outreach efforts that also include student visits to the UM Planetarium and public star-viewing at the Theodor Jacobsen Observatory.

This was a great experience for our Dawson Springs students to be able to learn and tell about The Traveling Dome Planetarium.
